We are all very fortunate to live in a growing and caring community.

Over the past 55 years, the Naperville United Way has successfully raised and invested monies into our community. The principle that “monies raised locally, stay local” is a cornerstone of the United Way. As we move forward, the Naperville United Way will continue to invest in programs and leverage community resources for the greatest impact on Naperville.

Working with our partner agencies, community leaders, and United Way volunteers, your local United Way Board of Directors has assessed where your generous contributions of time and money can have the greatest impact on Naperville.

We will focus on improving conditions in Naperville with an agenda focused on three Community-Impact Areas:

  1. Helping People in Crisis
  2. Helping Children and Youth Succeed
  3. Helping Adults Achieve Self-Sufficiency

With this focus on Community Impact, we will continue to measure results, define new ways to suupport the community, and strengthen our partnerships for essential teamwork and collaboration. Some examples of the desired outcomes are to provide critical care to those in crisis, education children and youth to make healthy choices, and foster economic independence.

“Partnering for a Strong and Healthy Naperville” is more than just a new marketing tag line for your United Way. We encourage each resident to participate in having a positive impact on our community. Your financial support is critical for success. Your willingness to volunteer will make a difference. Your ideas for developing the programs needed to meet our impact goals are welcome. We are excited about the possibilities that our community impact agenda can have in the future.

Our financial goals for the 2007 annual campaign have grown with our new focus on community impact. Whether you support our efforts through an employer-led campaign or make a contribution using our secure, on-line donation form, we thank you.

On behalf of the United Board we hope you will join us in supporting the Naperville United Way.

Sincerely,
Chip Downing
