COSTCO Partnering with the Community and United Way
September 1, 2006

Contributions to the Naperville United Way are the most effective way to invest in our community and make positive, lasting change. For this reason, COSTCO Wholesale Naperville is proud to support the Naperville United Way through an annual employee fundraising campaign.
Since the opening of COSTCO Naperville in 2003, Chris Davis, general manager, has helped to organize the local campaign that has donated over $83,000 to Naperville United Way.
Why has COSTCO chosen to run a campaign for the United Way?
We are very committed to our community and feel the United Way is the best way to give back to the community that we work and live in. Our founder, Jim Sinegal, is an avid supporter of the United Way. It is part of the corporate culture of COSTCO to give back to the community.
Why has COSTCO Naperville?s employee fundraising campaign been so successful?
Our employees understand what the United Way does and the effect it has on our community. The United Way researches the needs of the community and seeks out the best programs were our donation will have the most impact. 99% of our employees participate in our fundraising campaign because they want to make a difference right here in Naperville.
Do you personally give to United Way?
Yes, I do. I believe in the work of the United Way. The United Way has touched our lives, all of us, in one way or another.
Investing in the United Way helps more than one person, one charity or one issue, because we support a broad range of programs that improve lives.
